Features
Report Tab
The Report tab is your daily ministry log. It tracks everything you need for your monthly service report.
Daily Entry
For each day you can record:
- Hours — actual time spent in ministry
- Planned hours — time planned ahead
- Placements — literature or magazines shared
- Bible studies — conducted studies
- Comments — personal notes for the day
Tap a day in the calendar to switch between days. All data is saved automatically as you type.
Calendar
The calendar shows the current month with visual indicators on days that have data. You can:
- Tap any day to view or edit that day’s entry
- Swipe left/right to navigate between months
- Tap the month/year title to jump to any month quickly
- Tap Today to return to the current date
On iPhone the calendar can be collapsed to a compact week view. On iPad it is always visible — as a sidebar in landscape, or above the form in portrait.
Monthly Summary
Below the daily form, a summary card shows:
- Total hours this month vs. your monthly goal
- Hours remaining to reach your goal
- Total placements and Bible studies for the month
- Year-to-date totals and yearly goal
Role Management
In Settings → Report Settings you can configure your ministry role:
- Recurring role — set Publisher, Auxiliary Pioneer, or Regular Pioneer with a start month and optional end month. Each role carries a different monthly hour goal.
- One-time assignment — set a temporary Auxiliary Pioneer month (15 or 30 hours) for a single month without changing your recurring role.
- Role history — a log of all past role changes.
Service Year Overview
Tap View service year at the bottom of the monthly summary card to open the Service Year Overview.
- Use the picker at the top to select any service year (September–August) for which you have data
- The table shows all 12 months with the role you had that month, your hours, placements, and Bible studies
- Future months are shown with dashes and greyed out
- An orange ! icon appears next to any past month where a pioneer goal was not reached (Auxiliary Pioneer and one-time assignments only — Regular Pioneer tracks the full year)
- The goal section below the table shows:
- Auxiliary Pioneer / one-time assignment — the monthly goal for that month
- Regular Pioneer — the full yearly total vs. the 600-hour annual goal
- Publisher — no goal section shown
- Tap the share button (top right) to export the year as a PDF and open the iOS share sheet (save to Files, print, or share via any app)
Share Report
Tap Share report at the bottom of the monthly summary card to send your monthly report as a text message.
- The message is role-aware:
- Pioneer or one-time assignment — includes your hours and Bible studies for the month
- Publisher (no goal) — simply states “Ministry done: yes”
- The standard iOS share sheet opens, so you can send via iMessage, WhatsApp, email, or any other app
Ministry Timer
The Ministry Timer tracks how long you spend in field ministry and lets you save the time directly to your daily report.
How to use
Tap the timer button in the Report tab to open the Ministry Timer:
- Start — begins timing when you enter the territory
- Pause / Resume — pause the timer during breaks and resume when you continue
- Stop — ends the session; a save dialog shows your time rounded to the nearest 30 minutes, ready to add to the day’s report entry
Home screen widgets
Add a Ministry Timer widget to your home screen. Two sizes are available:
- Small — shows the current timer with icon-only Pause/Resume and Stop controls
- Medium — shows the timer on the left with labelled Pause, Resume, and Stop buttons on the right
Both sizes update automatically and let you control the timer without opening the app.
Live Activity & Dynamic Island
When you start the timer, a Live Activity is created automatically on supported devices:
- Lock Screen — shows the elapsed time with Pause/Resume and Stop controls
- Dynamic Island (iPhone 14 Pro and later) — shows a compact animated timer in the pill; long-press to expand and access controls
Bible Tab
The Bible tab tracks your progress through all 1,189 chapters of the Bible.
Progress Card
At the top of the Bible tab, the Progress card shows:
- A circular progress indicator with the percentage of chapters read
- Total chapters read out of 1,189
- Estimated completion date based on your reading plan
- Current reading streak (if the streak feature is enabled)
- A View History link to open your full reading history
Today’s Reading
If you have an active reading plan, a highlighted section shows today’s assigned chapters. Each chapter card has:
- A checkbox to mark it as read (tap)
- A link button to open the chapter on JW.org (tap the arrow icon)
Book List and Chapter Grid
The left column lists all Bible books with their completion percentage. Tap a book to open its chapter grid on the right. In the chapter grid:
- Blue with checkmark — chapter read
- Green outline — today’s assigned chapter
- Grey — unread chapter
Tap a chapter to mark it read or unread. Long-press (or use the context menu) to open it in JW.org or JW Library.
Reading Plans
Available reading modes:
- Sequential — Genesis to Revelation in order
- NT → OT — New Testament first, then Old Testament
- Custom — drag and drop books into your own preferred order
- Free mode — no daily schedule; mark chapters at your own pace
Available durations: 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, or a custom chapters-per-day rate (up to 10 per day).
If you fall behind, the app automatically reschedules missed chapters into your upcoming days while keeping the same daily pace.
Reading Streak
The streak counter tracks how many consecutive days you have read at least one chapter.
- A 2-day grace period applies before the streak resets — if you miss a day, the streak stays active for two more days
- If the Daily Reminder is enabled, you receive a notification on the first and second missed day
- Milestone celebrations with confetti and haptic feedback appear at: 5, 14, 30, 90, 180, and 365 consecutive days
- A special full-screen celebration appears when you complete all 1,189 chapters
Reading History
Tap View History in the Progress card to open the history sheet. It shows:
- Bible completions — a log of every date you finished all 1,189 chapters (for tracking progress across multiple read-throughs over the years)
- Daily reading log — every chapter you have read, grouped by date (newest first), in Bible order
Reading Quiz
After marking today’s chapters as read, a Quiz button appears in the Today’s Reading section. The quiz tests your comprehension of the chapters you have just read.
- Questions are drawn from the chapters read today
- Works in all reading modes, including Free mode
- Tap Start Quiz to begin; swipe or tap to move between questions
- Each question shows the Bible chapter reference it is drawn from
- Your score is shown at the end of the session
The quiz is optional — you can skip it at any time.
Quiz replay via long-press Long-press any read chapter in the chapter grid to quiz it directly — without needing to finish today’s reading plan first. Each chapter can earn points once per reading program cycle. Once a chapter has already been quizzed this cycle, the same long-press starts a replay session that shows your score but does not award points. When you complete the full reading program (all 1,189 chapters), all chapters unlock again for a new cycle.
Memorial Tracker
During the Memorial season (approximately one week before and after Nisan 14), a Memorial card and daily reading section appear. These show the assigned passages from the Bible and the book Jesus — The Way, the Truth, the Life for each day leading up to and following the Memorial.
- Tap a passage to mark it as read
- Tap the link icon to open the passage on JW.org or in JW Library
- The Memorial card shows your overall progress through all passages
- The tracker resets automatically each year after the Memorial date
